Answers to the questions I am asked most often, about what the earrings are made of, how they wear, and how an order works.
What are the earrings made of?
Earrings are made from PETG plastic covered with specialty papers and prints, then coated with a water-based polyvinyl acetate and acrylic resin. The backings are stainless steel and hypoallergenic.
How heavy are they?
Despite their bold size, each pair weighs about as much as one to three nickels, between 0.17 and 0.57 ounces.
Are they safe for sensitive ears?
The posts and backs are stainless steel, which is hypoallergenic and a good choice for sensitive ears.
How big is a pair really?
Most styles are 2 to 3.5 inches long, roughly the height or the width of a credit card.
Will my pair look exactly like the photo?
No two pairs are exactly alike. The decorative paper is cut from a larger printed design, often handmade, so the placement and arrangement of the pattern varies from pair to pair, and your earrings may differ slightly from the pair in the photos. Most designs can be made again, and a remake uses the same paper and frame, so it will be close to the original but never identical.
Do they come in other colors or lengths? Can I ask for a custom pair?
The styles and patterns are set, but some custom work may be possible on request, depending on the decorative papers I have on hand. Email me and I will tell you honestly what I can do.
How long until my order ships, and how long does delivery take?
Every order is packed by hand in Olympia, Washington. In stock pairs usually leave within 1 to 3 business days. Orders ship by USPS with tracking, and delivery usually takes 3 to 15 days depending on how far you are from Washington.
What if they arrive damaged, or I change my mind?
For hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective. If something is wrong with your order, contact me within 30 days of delivery at support@paperheartjewelry.com with your name and order number, and I will replace damaged or incorrect items at no cost to you. Eligible returns must be unworn and in their original packaging, and return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or I made a mistake on the order. Because each pair is handmade one at a time, I do not generally offer exchanges for a different design.
